Isabella Bannerman

Isabella first heard about the possibility of working on an all women daily strip from Jay Kennedy, who had been picking up her cartoons for his trial comic, The New Breed.

She has been delighted to have been working as 1/6th of Six Chix since it started in 1999.

Isabella Bannerman has been a cartoonist since 1987, when she won first prize in the San Francisco Bay Guardian Cartoon Contest. Since then, her work has been in many publications, including Glamour, The New York Times, The Funny Times and World War 3 Illustrated. Her Coffee God t-shirt has been sold many times by Northern Sun. A collection of her work, Pacifists in Bomber Jackets was published in 1998 by Laugh Lines Press. She has also worked in television as a set painter, animator and director, contributing to Mtv, Pee Wee’s Playhouse, and Jim Jinkins’ Doug. She lives with her family in Westchester County, NY.

  1. Hi there 6 chix,

Sorry to approach you this way, but there's no other contact info.

I found your works (and this website) through reuben.org. My name is Steven May, and I create unique, animated front-end web designs. I love having fun in my work, and The National Cartoonist Society seems like a great place to find fresh "victims" for my black arts.

I'm hoping that if you have a chance you might check out some of my insanity (and if you enjoy what you see, perhaps consider having me create some for your site).

Here's a few links to my work:

http://commanderpants.com (lots of animations - but beware, if you look on a smart-phone you will only see a 'lobotomized' version.)

http://baker-cimini.com (a wonderful, mad illustrator - each page on this site contains different types of animations)

    http://whomgodwoulddestroy.com

    http://boxfree.us/ (my business site)

http://pantsateria.com/linda/tank.html (a fun page that Ms. Baker-Cimini rejected as too much...silly girl)

(& a very fun, but NOT mobile friendly site):

    http://pantsateria.com/neighborhood/

If you enjoy what you see, I can either add animation to your current website (the perfect fix for that boring/static site), or design a complete site from the ground up. I'm cheap and I'm fast (that's why the ladies all love me so...)

    Thanks in advance

    Steven May
